Color Film Photos from “Around the Way…”

Mid September wildfire smoke from the Pacific Northwest, Idaho, and California cast an golden/orange light for this batch of photos shot on Fujicolor Superia X-TRA 400.

Cool, early fall temps made the way for longer outings. Some quirky, old-school looking images from “around the way” dog walks, driving and old haunts:

J. Willard Marriott Library

Early morning wildfire smoke, Crestwood Park.

Longview Elementary built in 1961. One of the few remaining mid-century schools in the valley.

When I first saw thse photos after getting them developed I was instantly transported back to a place in time somewhere before the Internet, around the late ’80s or early ’90s, the “golden age” of Hip-Hop. The feeling of watching old episodes of In Living Color or MTV — it’s like I’m seeing the today world through the fog of a 30 year old lens.
