Hex Hangs Over the West

Going on two weeks of Arctic temperatures now. Looking at the winds aloft today there seems to be no end in sight. 23 degrees is the peak most days with nights somewhere between -2 and 9 degrees. People are getting tense. I can sense it. The air is so thick with with smog during the day the sky is orange. It’s worse than the summer of forest fires several years back. I suspect there is a HEX hanging over the west (see photo below). Nothing to do but work and spend endless evenings in the pain cave on the indoor trainer. No end in sight….

An ode to Moss Man, who after 28 days in a hot spring emerged a changed person

"At first I was hungry, Then I just got weak. A couple of times, people came by and asked me if I was OK, did I need any help. But I refused because, I was stubborn. They didn't give me any food, but one of them gave me a beer. That was really refreshing. Probably the best beer I ever had in my life."
