Phil Anderson Arrested

December 22nd, 2006 by Mike

Featured in Mullets-of-the-Peloton, CYCLING great Phil Anderson faces jail after a spat with his ex-wife saw him arrested for breaching an intervention order as reported by the Velonews. Phil Anderson suffered more than his fair share of punishment en-route to paving the greatest professional road career of any Australian cyclist.

In his 14 years he broke many bones and was at the receiving end of too many injuries or illnesses to mention: in one season alone he sustained a fractured knee-cap, dislocated shoulder, badly bruised ribs and index finger, torn chest muscles and bronchitis.

Can you imagine Phil in a wifebeater shirt?

The Fightmaster

December 10th, 2006 by Mike

I just found out this morning that an old friend, one of Salt Lakes most notorious characters has passed away. Sean Fightmaster, as many of you may have seen loosely portrayed in SLC Punk, died last week. I have yet to find out any details. Although it’s been a few years since I last saw him, he will be missed. I remember one of my last encounters with Sean. He was a punk party at Chris Jecko’s house, trying to rally people to go with him to the Salt Lake City Cemetery where he claimed to have seen a human arm.?? I don’t know much at this point but it’s sad to hear.? More later..

An ode to Moss Man, who after 28 days in a hot spring emerged a changed person

"At first I was hungry, Then I just got weak. A couple of times, people came by and asked me if I was OK, did I need any help. But I refused because, I was stubborn. They didn't give me any food, but one of them gave me a beer. That was really refreshing. Probably the best beer I ever had in my life."
